About

My name is Jason Fleming and I work at the Hackney Library in Wilson, NC.

You can follow me on twitter at: https://twitter.com/jasonfleming73

I’m not a big ‘about’ page person. When I come to screens like these I usually draw a blank. But here is a determined effort to say a couple of things about myself.

My interests are varied so my blog posts follow accordingly. With that I have to accept that I might alienate yesterday’s followers today. But, I have found out that this is the best way for me to blog if I am going to keep up my own interest in the practice šŸ˜‰

I have set a goal to try and post something at least once a week.

My golden rule is: If I feel strongly enough about something that I can’t contain it within one tweet and get frustrated by that fact.. then it is time to write up a post about that subject

    Hi Jason,

I am a technology integrator in Maine. I work with teachers and students in middle school and high school. I saw the image of the book with the QR code. I am working with students right now creating podcasts and short videos reminiscent of Reading Rainbow. Once the podcasts or short videos are done, QR codes will be generated and placed on the books in the library. Students in the library can use iPod touches to scan the codes and hear about the books. I wondered if you created the image and if so if I could have permission to use it in a presentation I am giving at the New England League of Middle School conference in Providence, RI next week?

    Hi Jason,

I am a technology integrator in Maine. I work with middle school and high school teachers and students in a public school district. I am currently working with middle school students who have read books, written podcasts or scripts for short video about the books. They will create the podcasts or videos next. Then they will generate QR codes which will be placed on the books in the library. Students looking for books can scan the QR codes with the library’s iPod Touches. I noticed the image of the books with a QR code. Did you create this image? If so, would you allow me to use it in a presentation I am doing at the New England League of Middle Schools Conference in Providence, RI next week? It’s a perfect image for my presentation and I promise to give you full attribution!
Hope to hear from you soon!

    Lisa
